Project Life Week #16
I am a little bit behind posting my Week 16 Project Life pages. Not because they take me a long time to do but because I got wrapped up in trying to sort and organize all my scrapbooking supplies – both paper and digital - and organizing my albums. I’m pleased to say that’s all done now and I feel much better. I’ll try to remember to post more about that another time. For now, here are my Week 16 pages.

Use Your Stuff Weekly Challenge
This week on the Use Your Stuff blog, I challenged everyone to celebrate an accomplishment. We all need some celebrating some days, right?
I did this page about myself and the 5K race I ran a couple of years ago. I don't know what it is about running. I love it and dread it all at the same time!! I hope doing this page reminds me how good it feels to accomplish something and helps me to go out there and do it again!!

Boston
I've struggled with whether or not to post anything about the tragic events that occurred in Boston recently. On the one hand, I don't want to give the monster(s) who orchestrated this weak, cowardly act to get anymore attention than is required, but on the other hand my thoughts go out to all those affected by this event. What is this world coming to that someone would attack innocent bystanders? People only there to cheer for their friends and family as they cross the finish line for an event that only a fit few even qualify to participate in.
Run on, my friends and keep the faith.

Use Your Stuff Weekly Challenge
Well, it's Monday again and time for another Weekly Challenge over on the Use Your Stuff Blog. This week Joy challenged us to use the lyrics of a song in our project.
Last fall, Meredith was invited to a couple of parties. One was a Zombie Halloween Party and the other, a Tacky Christmas Shirt Party. (Her shirt wasn't very tacky, but it was the closest we could get!!) Generally, she's a homebody, but I think she really enjoyed getting dressed up and heading out for the night. I chose to use a title from an old Rick James/Eddie Murphy song. Do you remember this one?

Project Life - Week 14
Things are warming up here in Ontario, but not fast enough
for me. I love the winter but I am done with the cold, unpredictable weather.
For some reason when I see April on the calendar, I automatically think it’s
spring. It seems the weather thinks otherwise. I should know by now, it happens
every year. We usually get a snowstorm in April and every year I’m shocked. As I
write this, we are under a Storm Watch and lots of schools are closed due to
inclement weather. Not for my girls though. They get to go to school when
others are closed because their schools don’t have many students on buses.
Meredith is even writing her EQAO today and we were told the students had to be
there no matter what.
It’s been a few weeks since I stopped working and I am just
now starting to feel like I have a lot of time on my hands. I’m not complaining,
however I am going to have to work really hard to keep myself busy so that this
works for everyone. I’m taking Photography classes at night, I’m scrapbooking
frequently (too frequently actually – it makes me feel a bit guilty!), and I’m
starting to think about things I’d like to do around the house. I think I’ve
got enough on my list to keep me occupied until January, but the list just
keeps growing. There is so much to do, explore and learn.
Week 14 was not too exciting. There’s been lots of homework
for both girls, which keeps us at home. When their homework is done, they just
want to chill out, which is just fine by me.

The Evolution of Scrapbooking
Recently on the forum at Scrapbook Nerd, a thread was started about how long we'd been scrapbooking and what was trendy back then. This then led to another thread for members to post their first ever page.
I started scrapbooking in 2000 when Meredith was just over 2 years old. I've been scrapbooking ever since and when I don't have the opportunity to crop regularly, I really miss it and tend to get a bit grumpy. When I started, letter stickers and die cuts were all the rage. I used markers to colour in my titles and do my journaling and my photos were cut into fancy shapes.
I shared these pages on the board and thought it would be fun to share them here too. My first ever page:

Use Your Stuff Weekly Challenge
This weeks challenge is called "It's Not Easy Being Green". I love that!!!
Lynne challenged us to do a monochromatic green page. I don't do a lot of green pages, nor do I do many monochromatic pages so this challenge really forced me to think. I chose to do a page about Meredith's trip to Camp Wenonah last summer. She had an amazing time in a cabin full of lovely girls like her.
