A special dinner and a trip to the zoo . . .

We took a little trip to the zoo on Sunday. It was a great day for it. The weather was not too cold but not too hot either. It only took us 35 minutes to get there. We were totally amazed. Traffic was unusually light. Buying the zoo membership was a good investment. It means we can head out there any time we want for a great day without blowing the bank. We met up with the Corey's and were able to wander around with them for a while. Of course, by the end of the day my foot was screaming at me. I've got my bone scan tomorrow and will be happy to finally know what's wrong with it and, hopefully, be on the road to recovery.

While we were at the zoo, we visited the new Stingray Bay where we were able to touch the stingrays. I have to admit I really didn't want to touch them, but since my children weren't afraid, I figured I had to do it. They felt like suede. Really soft but a little slimey. Some of them were quite social and jumped up toward your hands. They even pushed up against your hand like a dog or a cat does when you pet them. Very cool. Their barbs were trimmed to make them safe to touch. Meredith was happy to know there wouldn't be a repeat of the Steve Irwin incident.

On Thursday, Meredith cooked dinner. Yes she did. She made Sausage Subs with garlic bread, Garlic Mustard dip with raw carrots and chocolate fudge with ice cream for dessert. Yummy, yummy. The food was all quite delicious and she (and we) is (are) looking forward to when she can do it again. It certainly made my night a little easier.
Friday I ventured into Buffalo to go to a Creating Keepsakes Convention with my friend Sheila. Unfortunately when I mapquested it, it gave me directions to the same address in Lackawanna. Boy, you don't want to end up there at night. It was very creepy. We drove around and around trying to figure out where we were and where we were supposed to be. But of course, Dave saved the day, yet again! Luckily he was near the phone and was able to figure out for me where we were and where we needed to go. Apparently Mapquest isn't infallible. I didn't buy too much. A cute little bind-it-all machine which means I can make my own little spiral bound albums at home and some paper, ink and embellishments. I actually spent less than $100. A first for me!!!
Today I spent the day cleaning. I feel like I haven't been home since Thursday and the house reflected that. It's all clean and neat and tidy now. Aaaah.
Gotta go do my toes for my bone scan tomorrow.
Cheerio.
